2015

Nepal prepared to host adventurous bikers for this international race in November, 2015. People traveled to Kathmandu for the inaugural Giant Kathmandu Bike Fest, which took place from November 20-22, 2015. The international cross-country/downhill bike race was held at the Hatiiban Hills in Lalitpur.

Alongside Nepal’s national champions, participants from all over the world joined the event. The races—DH & XC—featured two categories for both expert and amateur riders. Yoga sessions (before and after rides), non-racer trails, and booths showcasing major bike and accessory brands available in Nepal were also part of the event.

Switchback Nepal was the Official Downhill and Cross-Country Trail designer and builder, technical management of the race and race director. The grand finale included a music concert with funk and reggae bands from Nepal. Participants had the chance to exchange tips and techniques with Ms. Rebecca Rush, a four-time world champion, who led a riding clinic on November 22. Attendees could choose to stay in Hattiban or Kathmandu.
