LAMATAR MTB RACE

The Lamatar MTB Race was a fun event for professional and amateur cyclists. There were several categories depending on the riders' level and experience:

  • Elite (professional, men)

  • Open (amateur, fun racing)

  • Women (professional and amateur)

  • Junior (below 18 years)

  • Master (above 40)

  • Grand Master (above 50)

 

To top off a great day of cycling, Switchback introduced a five-a-side Cycloball tourney – football played on bicycles, the first of its kind in Nepal – with drool-worthy gifts for the winning team. Speaking of gifts, there were attractive lucky draw prizes for participants and also for spectators who purchased raffle tickets at the door. (Mini getaways in Hetauda, Pokhara, and Chitwan, along with a million other smaller prizes!)

1. To date (2014) the largest attendance of any mountain bike race in Nepal

2. 25 female participants

3. Huge participation of youth and students

  • Sponsors: 5 main sponsors and 30 banner sponsors

  • Competitors: 260 over 5 Categories

  • Spectators: 500+
